Here is my Yahoo! Weather data visualization sketch. For any given zip code you can have as an input, it represents two data: temperature and wind speed.
The number of cubes on the screen is the actual number of degrees in a range that goes from -24 to 129 Fahrenheit degrees. The range of colors is also representing the temperature. The wind speed is given by the frequency and the speed at which the cubes rotate on themselves.
Take a look at the source code, which is now displaying the current weather in the Philippines.
Here is also a minimal version of the sketch, with no text and without an exact correspondence between the number of degrees and the number of the cubes on the screen. Here is the source code of the minimal version.
